Happy Birthday Brockwell Lido-we can’t wait to celebrate your birthday with you as WBS on tour. xxx
Thank you to everyone for making the Walpole Bay Tidal Pool a very special place to be on the afternoon of the 25th June 2017. We all played our parts in making a bit of history at the pool. A free celebration for everyone, organised by the Walpole Bay Swimmers.
It came together with no funds but simply by people volunteering their time and skills to the community. A huge, huge thank you to Dave Melmoth and co for volunteering to lifeguard and judging the boat competition, The Shipwreck Sea Shanty singers who raised money for the RNLI, Kent Fire and Rescue for promoting fire&water safety, Kent Scuba Dive for litter picking the bottom of the pool, Rob Ball, Jason Pay & Karen Sheperdson, for a whole afternoon of photography, documenting today’s pool users, Hotpod Yoga, Kent Sea Swimmers, Kate Harrison at ABC for organising, supporting & litter picking, Margate WI for litter picking, Cliftonville Farmers Market, Tony Child and crew, The Walpole Bay Triathletes, Chris Glover and the coastal engineering team, Abdul & Kevin at the Jet Ski Cafe, Sara & Alex at The Tom Thumb Theatre for a premier film screening of “Take the waters”by Kathryn Ferguson & Anna Hart, Molly Molloy from Turner Contemporary for hosting a free kids workshop, The teenage drone filmer!!!
And to all the swimmers who formed an 8 0 in the water and sung happy birthday to the pool whilst being filmed by a drone! Footage to follow……
