Do you agree that Thanet District Council need to do more to clean up Cliftonville West?”
Did you answer YES?
If you did….we need you to sign this petition and pass it on.
Lets hope that this encourages TDC to take this area more seriously when we say Cliftonville is not getting what it deserves….

We’re really looking forward to the Pool’s 80th on June 25th-we’re planning to swim at 4.30pm to work with a receding tide-fingers crossed for good weather now!!! Bring a picnic, refreshments, bbq perhaps, swimming stuff and a towel.
Walk or come by public transport. Parking is very limited down at Hodges Gap with the car park locked up at 5pm.
Take your rubbish away with you. Leave only your footprint in the sand.
We’re planning to do a beach clean afterwards too around 6pm.
All welcome to make sure our beach is spick and span!
We’re planning to mark the Pool’s 80th birthday with a swim at 4pm on Sunday 25th June! You are invited to join in….bring a picnic, cozie and your towel….ready to dip into the 80year old, 4 acre, Grade ll listed tidal pool.
We love our beach so much so we’re gonna be doing regular once per month community beach cleans at Walpole Bay as of May-please join us if you can-on the first weekend of every month-meet at the ramp to the pool. Time/Day TBC. xxxxx
Thanks to everyone who turned up today-Jan 1st 2017-to make it a truly community event to celebrate the new year! We think there were 80 swimmers to mark the pools 80th birthday this year- it was certainly the biggest turn out yet! Thanks to the crowd who cheered us on and supported us with holding coats and supplying flasks of hot drinks after a dip in the North Sea! Also a massive thank you to local restaurant business “Roost” for supplying hot soup to all swimmers after the event. See you all soon for more outdoor swimming in 2017.
Did you know that the Walpole Bay Tidal Pool was built in June 1937?
To celebrate the pool turning 80 we’re hoping to run a series of events through the Summer Swim Season to celebrate this special year for the pool.
Keep a watch on our social media sites and this page for more info.
Make a splash in the new year! Make a fresh start of it all!
On the first day of 2017 join the merry gang of Walpole Bay Swimmers- few swimmers and like-minded-adventure-fun-seeking individuals together (hopefully 80 of us!) to mark the Tidal Pools 80th Birthday in 2017.
Meet by the steps to the pool at 10am ready with wetsuits or not (!) to take a dip with fellow swimmers, thermals and woolly hats for afterwards, hot flasks of beverages, soup, hot toddies, whatever takes your fancy to celebrate the new years day in style down at your very own tidal pool.
This pool does not have a lifeguard. It is wild and free. You are responsible for yourself and how you enter/ exit the pool, swimming at the pool is at your own risk.
